Well-being

We are committed to our mission statement; to create a school environment where all of our students feel welcome, safe and included in order for them to learn and grow as healthy and balanced individuals.

Our student support structure focuses on the individual. We believe that every student should feel cared for and supported in their own learning journey and we strive to meet the needs of all learners.

In Secondary school, the mentor programme at ISB offers the opportunity for students to feel connected to their peers through activities focusing on social skills, connection and collaboration.

When a student experiences difficulty in school, their class teacher/mentor and the relevant coordinators review and implement plans together with the Head of Pastoral team to determine interventions, further evaluations, accommodations and academic support.

Class teachers/mentors, subject area teachers and the Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCo) consult to create Individual Learning Plans (ILP’s) for students who receive accommodations and additional support.

A counseling/school psychologist service offers confidential advice and support to any student who needs it.
